That is why we are committed to responsible sourcing.
Responsible sourcing
At Puratos, we know that responsible sourcing is key to ethical trading and that consumers are right to be concerned about where their food comes from, how it is produced, and how it is sourced. As a result, we make sure that we collaborate and keep an open dialogue with the people involved in our supply chain.
Our objectives
As a company that tries to source responsibly at all times, we have two main objectives:
- To favour raw materials, packaging, equipment and services that are environmentally friendly, benefit society, and give value for money over their lifecycle
- To favour suppliers who share our vision of sustainability and who work towards maintaining a more sustainable supply chain
Cacao-Trace
Cacao-Trace is our sustainable cocoa sourcing program that is redefining the standard for chocolate, by focusing on superior taste. In our local post-harvest centers, spread across the world, our fermentation experts are setting new criteria for the cocoa fermentation process. This enables us to make a better tasting chocolate and to have a real impact on the quality of life for cocoa farmers.
SEDEX
Puratos is part of SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, an NGO dedicated to making global supply chains more responsible and ethical.
RSPO
Puratos is a member of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the only global system for the certification of sustainable palm oil. Today we have twenty RSPO-certified sites across Europe, USA and Australia, and plan to include others in the near future.
